Digital Human : virtual reality assistant

What is virtual reality?

Virtual reality is a computer program or computer system used to create a kind of simulated environment. To get into this kind of virtual world, one has to use a kind of virtual device. Anyone who uses this virtual device will find the scene completely true. You can understand that what you are seeing is imaginary. But, when you look at that imaginary world or scene, it will seem completely real. A complete 3D and 5D world through virtual reality or VR and is done using computer technology. You can go to Mars, swim in the ocean, or stay in the jungle with the dinosaurs, in all sorts of environments and see it as it really is.

But these are possible through virtual reality. Through virtual reality, we can create an imaginary environment and world. We can take the feeling of being in that environment or world. It is a kind of artificial environment. It is created through the use of some special computer software and hardware.

History of Virtual Reality

When we talk about virtual reality, we don’t think about a modern virtual reality device or VR headset and some computer applications through which you can go into an imaginary world. When it comes to the history of virtual reality, there is much more to say. The first stereoscope was invented in 1838. A twin mirror was used to project an image. Virtual reality was first used in the mid-1980s. Jaron Lanier was the founder of Visual Program Lab (VPL) research. He began developing gears with Goggles and Gloves. Later he called it a virtual reality and invented it in 1956.

To improve the experience, augmented reality uses the current real-world environment and overlays virtual information on top of it.

Japanese company created a virtual reality assistant

Digital Human is a service-oriented technology. KDDI and Mawari (which means “environment” in Japanese) have teamed together to create a virtual assistant that can be “seen” in augmented reality via a smartphone screen. By pointing the phone at a real-world location, he may give directions and engage with the user. This is the first, but likely not the last, example of a digital human as a service (DHaaS) offering. This is who he is, and this is what his future holds.

Fiction films have foreshadowed the eventual arrival of artificial intelligence among us. This does not stop a number of businesses from attempting to market “digital humans” before all of the intelligence difficulties are fixed. What if you don’t want to spend money on a digital person because it sounds strange? Of course, you may rent it!
The commercial demonstrates that this isn’t all that different from, Pokémon Go. KDDI’s 5G network, Amazon’s low-latency AWS Wavelength edge compute nodes, and Mawari’s unique codec enable digital humans to stream to your phone in real-time rather than running on a phone chip.

According to the news statement, this “dramatically reduces the demanding real-time processing of digital persons, while also cutting cost, data volume, and battery usage while extending capabilities.” AR apps like Pokémon Go use a lot of battery, and it’s not just because of the graphics; it’s also because of the simultaneous operation of GPS, camera, and cellular communication.
The movie also includes interior and outdoor walking route maps, but it looks to be merely a proof of concept.

Who dares to enter the metaverse designed for ‘digital people’ and pay for this ‘service’, as the name implies, on a monthly or annual basis? That’s a large question, but there are plenty of companies eager to join the thriving metaverse these days. Even better if they can utilize buzzwords like 5G, AI, and Edge Computing. It takes a lot of effort to display a future-oriented mindset. And maybe, right now, someone will be able to make their dreams a reality.
